Bills suspend OL coach Aaron Kromer for first six games

Sunday night the Bills announced they’ve suspended offensive line coach Aaron Kromer for the first six games of the season without pay. Although the charges were dropped Friday, the Bills have decided to discipline Kromer. The team made its decision after conducting its own investigation in conjunction with the NFL. Zachery Kromer was accused of placing his hands on another boy during the altercation.

Kromer had been on indefinite leave from the Bills. Battery charges were dropped this week against him and his son Zachery, according to ESPN, but that didn’t prevent the league from taking action in accordance with its revamped personal conduct policy.

Kromer came under fire last year when he admitted to his then-Bears players that he was one of the sources leading to a report criticizing Jay Cutler.

Elmore added the alleged victims of the incident declined to continue their case against Kromer after reaching an “amicable resolution”, per Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News. The suspension will begin on Monday, September 7, 2015 and end with the conclusion of the Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals game on October 18, 2015. Kromer is eligible to return for the team’s Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars that will be played in London. Bills head coach Rex Ryan says the hiring was not in anticipation of a possible suspension to Kromer and had actually taken place in June, well before Kromer’s arrest.
