Richness of poor is their attitude to pay back loans: PM Modi

PM Modi talks about anganwadi system in the country, says it is best for the poor children’s development at grass root level.

Reiterating balanced development in all regions of the country, Modi stressed the need for fighting poverty in Odisha and other States in the country’s eastern region. “Some of them have even started paying back to banks”, PM Modi said, adding, “The richness of the poor people of India is to repay the loans”.

During his nearly hour-long speech, Modi welcomed public scrutiny of governments and said it was his responsibility to give an account of the work being done and every penny spent, unlike the governments in the past that never came forward with any such account.

The Prime Minister said his government has already electrified more than 18,000 villages in India.

Throughout his address, Modi focused on the alleviation of poverty in the country by making the poor empowered through proper implementation of the social welfare schemes. Besides, we have built 4.5 lakh toilets in schools and are spending crores of rupees for 3.5 crore poor families in the country.

“Our government believes in Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas (Everyone’s Participation, Everyone’s Development)”, he added.

PM Modi said that my government emphasizes on the development of Eastern Indian states including Odisha. BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is dedicated for development.

Attacking Congress governments, Modi said, “Previous governments thought they were good to the country”.

Modi who visited the region for the first time as a PM highlighted various schemes of the NDA II Government and claimed that his cabinet was working overtime to take the country to a new height.

Lauding the locals, the Prime Minister said there is no election, no protest, but still a large number of people have come here in this heat to listen to the words of the “pradhan sevak”.

“We want to bring such a culture where governments and leaders are accountable and governments give an account of every minute and every pie”.

He listed various schemes initiated by his government in the past two years for welfare of every section in the society.

– “People’s mindset about gender equality must change”.

“You can look at the condition of states where BJP is yet to get a foothold”, he said, apparently taking a dig at the Naveen Patnaik government.
