Hull City return to Premier League after seeing off Sheffield Wednesday
Mo Diame’s victor over Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley helped the Tigers bounce straight back into the Premier League from last year’s relegation and rake in a massive cash bonanza.

Mohamed Diame was the Tigers hero, firing a superb finish past outstanding Wednesday goalkeeper Kieren Westwood from outside the area after the break.
“We try to attract the best players but we are never going to be the biggest payers, and it’s hard to try and get people to come to us, even if we have the money, so there is a long road ahead”.
That meant a Wednesday side that had failed to create a clear-cut chance had less than 20 minutes in which to muster a response – but they could not even muster an attempt on target.
“Thankfully, the owner didn’t want me to go and I had a long, hard thought about it and thought ‘Can I fix the damage from relegation?'”
He has started 36 games in the league, by far his best run of matches, and at 26 the winger seems to have found the stability he had cleared needed. “I don’t think there’s a player here really that the gaffer hasn’t brought in now”. On the big stage and on the big occasion, Diame has come up trumps for us. “If they are I can stay here 10 years”.
“Obviously it’s a disappointment that we never got over the line but we’ll go for it next season and get the job done”.
Steve Bruce, their manager, is hoping to win promotion to the top flight for a record fourth time.
Hull City players celebrate after a promotion-clinching victory.
Elmohamady, who initially joined Hull on loan in the summer of 2012 before becoming a permanent member of the team a year later, has made 44 appearances and scored three goals this year with the Hull.
“They probably go in as favourites, but that doesn’t kill us”, said Brannan.
This is only four years after their away supporters were often the majority at games as they watched their team play in the third-tier of English football after financial turmoil saw the team struggle to hold on to their top players. We did our best.
‘I’ve said many times, on our day we’ve proved against Burnley, against Middlesbrough, we beat them both comfortably, so we can’t go in there thinking about the games we’ve not done well in’.

Mohamed Diame who was one of Hull’s best players in the play-offs got the all-important victor in the 72nd minute when he latched unto the ball from outside the area to win the game for his side.
