Sania, Leander In French Open Mixed Doubles Semis
Paris: It was a day to remember for Sania Mirza and Leander Paes as they made it to the French Open mixed doubles semifinals along with their respective partners Ivan Dodig and Martina Hingis here on Thursday.

Mirza and Dodig will next face third seeds and local favourites Kristina Mladenovic and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the semi-final.
The Indo-Swiss pair were dominant throughout the match, using their vast experience to good effect, breaking their Brazil-Russian opponent four times in 11 attempts.
It was the exact opposite for Mirza and Dodig, who lost the first set but rebounded to grab the second set. A couple of unforced errors and double faults added to the misery of the second seeds as Yung-Jan Chan and Max Mirnyi ran away with the set to win it 6-3.
Paes and Hingis brushed past the sixth-seeded pair of Andrea Hlavackova and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, defeating them 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.

In French open Tennis, after complete washout since 2000 yesterday, eight pre-quarterfinal matches planned for yesterday and two matches held over from Sunday night will now be played today. With the momentum on their side, they surged to a 6-1 lead in the match tie-break.
