Paul McCartney does rare ‘FourFiveSeconds’ performance

Another big plus for Lollapalooza over most other festivals is that it is located smack dab in the middle of Chicago so it is easily accessible by public transportation. The first day featured performances from Tove Lo, Alabama Shakes, Cold War Kids, Dillon Francis, and the Weeknd. Check out the gallery below to see some of the day’s highlights.

Although Coachella debuted six years earlier, in many ways, Lollapalooza became the model for so numerous festivals to follow.

Starting Friday 31st July, Chicago’s famous Lollapalooza festival is taking place across the weekend.

Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes brought the crowd to their feet with her soulful rendition of “Hang Loose”. He paused a few times to comment on the imposing EDM fuckery that was bleeding from the Kaskade set over at Perry’s stage.

The show ended with the trio performing “Let It Be,”Live and Let Die” that was enhanced with fireworks and pyrotechnics, and finally “Hey Jude”, when crowed joined a massive echo of singalong”.

Music site Fuse realized a video of the performance on youtube where McCartney in white shirt and black trousers, points to the left side of the stage before he invites Howard to play the song with him.
