Ex Employees: Trump University ‘Preyed Upon’ People
Mr Trump’s cases are of a civil nature.

There are three separate lawsuits. The recently unsealed documents in the class-action suit against Trump U included the names of a bunch of those delighted students.
According to the playbooks, “money is never a reason for not enrolling in Trump University; if they really believe in you and your product, they will find the money”.
The New York Attorney General added that he was intent on proving that the real estate school violated state laws on business fraud, consumer fraud, and operating a university without a license.
And while Trump has often said he was looking at a national campaign, “in the summer of 2013 this was just a fraud case”, said Schneiderman.
If the students were hesitant to take on debt, there was a script for that, too: “Every single company goes into debt when they are first starting out, EVERY SINGLE BUSINESS!”
“It was a classic bait-and-switch scheme”, he told CNN. Then at noon eastern a judge unseals internal documents on how Trump University did business. The most expensive, the Gold Elite program, cost $35,000.
Sexton also testified that Trump, who does not appear to have drafted the Playbooks themselves, took a front-and-center approach to marketing – the university’s “chief promoter”-making sure that his role on the reality TV show The Apprentice was highlighted and that his success was laid out as a model for Trump University students of the “entrepreneurship course” to follow”. The campaign, like the “university”, is a fraud created to benefit Trump by exploiting the uneducated, the desperate, and the vulnerable.
“They were unqualified people posing as Donald Trump’s ‘right-hand men, ‘” said Jason Nicholas, another former employee, in his statement.
Some of the plaintiffs said they felt so guilty about their complicity in the alleged scam that they chose to resign. Many of them did not even own houses, and had no experience buying or selling real estate. “It was a facade, a total lie“.
It also implored staff to pepper prospective students with questions such as: “Do you like living paycheck to paycheck?…” “You do not have to be rich to invest in real estate”. “The more vivid and real you can make those dreams, the more your client will see they need help and they need it now!”
Trump has fought Schneiderman tooth and nail for three years, both in court and in the press. But he has chosen not to. Later on in that same deposition, Trump was asked about the selection process.
Judge Gonazalo Curiel said he chose to release the previously sealed testimony from one of the cases because of public interest since Trump “became the front-runner in the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential race, and has placed the integrity of these court proceedings at issue”.
Salespeople were instructed to “collect personalized information” about the potential students. Contrary to its promises that Trump himself would be “actively involved” in the students’ education and would “handpick” the instructors, he had no involvement in either.
Trump lost his case countersuing Makaeff for defamation. “And the more it hurts, the more they’ll be prepared to pay for a speedy solution”.
But Trump didn’t settle. Trump even suggested in a GOP debate that the cases could go on for a “couple of years”. “[We were] bringing cases against different for profit colleges”.
