Ah, Metal Gear Solid 3 – many consider it to be the peak of Kojima’s stealth series, and most remember it as a classic. Based on Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater, the industry’s first 32-inch LCD display is said to include story and battle modes. And so it has been a running joke that we should eventually expect an MGS-inspired pachinko machine.
Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima left Konami a while back, but since the company still has the rights to the series, they’ve decided to make the next entry in the series a pachislot game. With two of their biggest franchises getting the pachinko treatment, it was only a matter of time before the Metal Gear Solid series faced a similarly gruesome fate.
Would you farm it out and let other studios have a go at it, like Konami did in the past with Silent Hill? If you feel the same, you might want to look away now.
Metal Gear Solid 3 was original released on PlayStation 2 in 2004 and although there was a HD remaster last generation it merely upped the resolution and frame rate.
