Tinder Enhances Transgender User Experience With New Features
Tinder is a dating app for iOS and Android that allows users to swipe left or right on a profile depending on whether they want to connect with that person.

“There’s a transgender community on Tinder and we haven’t done enough to give them a good experience”, Rad told the attendees at the Recode Code Conference on Thursday.
“It makes it hard to find what you’re looking for”, said Rad. He’s seen that transgender users are more likely to get reported than other users and he takes blame for not giving transgender people adequate identity options.
Tinder wants to make its app more inclusive.
However, the transgender community has never been given much attention in the app. Currently, users can only identify and preference males or females, but an updated options list will be more comprehensive. It’s either men looking for women or vice versa.
Tinder, however, started working with GLAAD, according to Rad, on how to modify the Tinder experience. We haven’t delivered for them, so we’re working with LGBTQ advisors, including transgender activist Andrea James and GLAAD to help us address this important demographic.
