Doping Findings From 2008 Olympics Rough For Athletics, Says Bolt
The Canadian law professor and sports lawyer was a member of WADA’s three-person independent commission which previous year which exposed widespread doping and corruption in Russian athletics.

“To examine those statements that Rodchenkov made on the pages of The New York Times, we need to question him”, Russia’s federal Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said in comments carried by state news agency TASS.
Earlier this week, the International Olympic Committee said it would start re-testing samples from the 2014 Sochi Winter Games after allegations of tarnished samples were made last week by Rodchenkov.
McLaren has a long history in worldwide sports law.
Russian and US prosecutors are also investigating the allegations.
McLaren is an global sports lawyer and a professor at Western University in London, Ont.
“Dr. Rodchenkov and Mr. Stepanov – that are the informants for this investigation – both expressed concerns regarding “independence”.
Russian officials have acknowledged that the country has a problem with doping, but denied any government involvement.
The American Department of Justice have also vowed to conduct their own separate investigation.
“Now they will publish (a report for) 2008”.
Hoketsu would have become the oldest athlete to compete at the Olympics had he qualified for Rio, overtaking Swedish shooter Oscar Swahn, who participated in the 1920 Antwerp Games at the age of 72.
Hoketsu was aiming for his fourth Olympics after also appearing at the 2008 Beijing Games.
If it is found that there have been violations of the World Anti-Doping Code, however, WADA has vowed to “ensure that individuals or organisations concerned are dealt with in an appropriate fashion”.
