Microsoft’s Windows 10 push comes to shove for some users

Windows 10 cumulative update 10586.336, which was released for mobile devices earlier this week, is very likely to be shipped to PCs very soon, although the company usually releases such improvements on Patch Tuesday every month.

Windows 10 is a great operating system, but the tactics Microsoft has been using to push the free upgrade to eligible users are becoming more than a little reminiscentof those favoured by malware peddlers. Microsoft credits her with developing the Windows search experience, managing teams that created the search box in Windows 7’s Start menu, the File Explorer tool and the Open/Save dialogs, and Windows 8 search functions for tablets. It now gives a date and time for the upgrade.

Users now only have the option to either temporarily cancel it or have it rescheduled for another time.

Since Windows 10 shipped, if you installed the Remote Desktop app from the Store you were using our Windows [Phone] 8.1 app.

First, some background. As you know, I was one of the big champions for Windows 10 when it first started shipping. Given that it’s built on Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform, though, that may well change in the not-too-distant future.

We have been hearing a number of rumors about the new Microsoft Surface Phone and now it is possible that we may have some specifications on the handset and also a photo of the device. Windows Hello 2.0 is said to incorporate a more extensive set of authentication protocols, adding support for external means of authentication.

Microsoft refused to comment when asked about the matter. The Surface Phone is also expected to reinvigorate Microsoft’s mobile business, especially after the failure of the Nokia brand.
