Apple to drop 16GB storage option on iPhone 7

Further, few reports also suggest that Apple has postponed the release date of the much-awaited smartwatch, as the company is planning to launch the device with the upcoming iPhone 7.

Apple has steadily been increasing the maximum amount of storage that is available in its devices with the release of the 256GB device earlier this year. Specifically, Long estimates that upwards of 120 million iPhone users today are using iPhone 5s devices or even older models.

The case is now retailing on China’s Oppomart under the name ‘Sunnyc Full Protective Silicon Case for iPhone 7 Plus’.

Additionally, another rumor that had been making rounds was that the new iPhone would come out with a dual camera.

Other purported changes to the iPhone 7 include a sleeker and slimmer design as the new iPhone will reportedly abandon the 3.5mm audio port, a minimum storage of 32GB and a new A10 chipset. Kevin Wang of IHS Securities, who has been a reliable source for Apple news in the past has now revealed that Apple’s next iPhone will feature a “Dual Screen Display”, which will look similar to the display found on the Galaxy S7 Edge.

The case renders include a depiction of what the dual camera system on the 5.5 inch iPhone 7 Plus could look like, suggesting that it will have a binocular-esque appearance of two camera iris holes side-by-side with a sizeable gap between them.

It is likely that the new smartwatch will be lighter and thinner than the previous one, although several Apple analysts are confident in saying that there will be no significant overhaul. Moreover, these Silicon cases are said to go on sale by the end of June, whereas the speculated launch timeline for the phones is the end of September (based on Apple’s past launch events).

As always, Apple has found improved ways to make it easier for you to fill up this storage space such as the introduction of 4k video recording on the latest iPhone models.

One final area where the iPhone 7 is likely to see considerable improvement over its predecessors is in storage.

If this is the iPhone 7 Plus we are all expecting, will you buy it?
