Two top women lose in Paris, complain about playing in rain
Two of the French Open’s top six seeds were ousted from the tournament on Tuesday morning, as second-seed Agnieszka Radwanska and sixth-seed Simona Halep both lost their respective fourth-round matches. “It feels unbelievably great”.

Meanwhile, Halep said: “I have no words”.
Playing during the rain did not sit well with Halep, but given that Stosur and the Romanian were faced with the same conditions, she felt she had to take responsibility for her elimination.
A recap of the action on a rainy Day 10 on Tuesday at the French Open in Paris, including results, tweets, hot shots, photos and more.
Djokovic has beaten Berdych in their last 10 meetings although the Czech will be slightly bouyed by knowing that his last win against the world number one was on clay three years ago.
After a fairly comfortable opening set Stosur was made to battle, coming from 5-1 down in the tie-break to progress. Stosur hopes to reach her fifth career grand slam semifinal appearance and first since the 2012 French Open.
The 21st seed will face Pironkova next, with the victor of that tie playing Spain’s Garbine Muguruza or 108th-ranked American Shelby Rogers for a place in the final.
Meanwhile, Muguruza, who is the first Spanish woman in 16 years to reach the French Open final, has had it easier in the other half of the draw. “And to play tennis matches during the rain I think it’s a bit too much”, said Halep.
After yet another stoppage, Stosur picked up where she left off and closed out the match 7-6 (0), 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Quote of the Day: “No one cares about the players, in my opinion”. “But everyone was in the same situation, and who was stronger won today”.
Radwanska, a quarter-finalist in Paris in 2013, hit out at organisers for making players in wet conditions. “Again, I was pretty sure about all those things, and then had a good plan of what I wanted to do and had to stay on that path”.
Both the Swiss and the Briton have had the luxury of an extra day’s rest, having completed their fourth-round matches on Sunday before the rain set in. Pironkova is easily playing her best tennis of the season and is playing like somebody who is eager to get back in the top-50 or so.
If Djokovic and Bautista Agut were able to complete their match, it was scheduled to be followed in the main stadium by defending champion Serena Williams against 18th-seeded Elina Svitolina.
