Protestors jump on a passing auto outside San Jose Convention Center as Presidential candidate Donald Trump holds a rally in San Jose, Calif., Thursday, June 2, 2016. Some criticized San Jose police for intervening too slowly. Four arrests were made.
“He’s sitting there behaving, and we had protesters inside the arena”. He also said the 250 police weren’t enough to control the roughly 400 protesters.
Liccardo defended the police Friday.
Donald Trump sought to tout his support among African-Americans on Friday by pointing out a black man in the crowd and calling him “my African-American”.
San Jose – where Latinos make up a third of the population – became the focus of global attention anyway. Trump hats grabbed from supporters were set on fire on the ground.
Trump has accused Mexico of sending drug dealers and rapists across the USA border and has promised to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. Hundreds of protesters waved Mexican flags, chanted anti-Trump slogans and burned Trump hats and at least one USA flag.
After the president, who praised embattled DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, wrapped up his speech, reporters overheard him say, “I’m out of practice, I haven’t campaigned in a while”, he said, when asking for some tea to keep him hydrated. Tremendous love and enthusiasm in the hall. “Big crowd. Outside, small group of thugs burned (American) flag!”

Obama, who is beginning to stump as a surrogate for the Democratic nominee, also took a swipe at Trump himself when in Miami. His comments ranked as the fourth most-talked about topic around the globe. In some cases, they are even physically attacking people.
“I said, ‘Yeah, jobs.’ It’s all a fog”, Cheadle recalled.
Some banged on the cars of Trump supporters as they left the rally and chased after those on foot. Police were captured on video clips trying to disperse the crowd. One officer suffered minor injuries after a dozen or more people were punched and vehicle windows were broken Thursday night. Now we are seeing people who are against him responding in kind – it should all stop. Bernie Sanders said, My thoughts are very clear. “We saw in San Jose these protesters starting to pelt stuff and Trump supporters”.
“Many of the attendees were attacked out in the open”, said Pete Constant, a former San Jose councilman and former police officer.
“I do not think any of this helps anybody”.

Percival said he wouldn’t be surprised to see rising tensions overall and “we can expect more of that as the summer gets longer and hotter and the rhetoric gets ramped up by Trump and his supporters”.
