Shortly after, a race engineer tried to reassure Ricciardo, saying “get your head together, you’re quicker than him, let’s do it”, but the error was a awful one.

Race victor Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, center, of Britain, second placed Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo, left, of Australia and third placed Force India driver Sergio Perez, right, of Mexico react during the podium ceremony after the Formula One Grand Prix at the Monaco racetrack in Monaco, Sunday, May 29, 2016.
“Hopefully this will be a boost at least for my mechanics who have been nervous all year”.
“It’s not easy coming from one side of the garage to the World Champion’s auto”, the triple-World Champion revealed. “I’m so grateful, so happy”.
Hamilton hopped out of his auto to embrace the Canadian, and even shared his champagne with Bieber before spraying it over his Mercedes team.
The next race is the Canadian GP, which Hamilton has won four times and at which Rosberg has never triumphed. “I know how quick I am round Monaco, but it was only my second win”, he said. “It’s such a difficult race to win and this was the hardest”.
Up at the front, Daniel Ricciardo was displaying incredible driving skills as the Red Bull streaked ahead, with Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton fighting it out for second place.
New official Formula 1 footage has emerged of Daniel Ricciardo’s shambolic pit stop at the Monaco Grand Prix, confirming the confusion that cost the Aussie a probable win.
Victory in Canada would soon put their relationship on an even footing. “It hurts. I don’t have anything else to say to be honest”. There are things you can do to manage the tyres, but every now and then Daniel would close the gap so I had to keep pushing. “We really need to pull together as a team”.
“He is part of the team so we all managed it in the right way”.
“Until then I didn’t know what happened”, Hamilton said. “It was the culmination of a number of factors that came into play during the race – Max’s stop, an aborted stop, a change of tire compound”.
“But I went out with some friends, had a beer and thought: ‘Let’s see what tomorrow brings'”. It was later revealed that Rosberg had brake problems, but around the narrow streets of Monte-Carlo, Hamilton could not find a way past him. “I’m sure he’s not too happy but he should proud of the way he drove”.

“But the rest is up to me and I apologize because I couldn’t get to the podium”, he said. But the team also have to improve Ricciardo’s mood after two desperately disappointing weekends.
