DNC chair Wasserman-Schultz may be on her way out

Some Democrats are privately discussing whether to force Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to step down ahead of the Democratic National Convention this summer, the Hill reported Tuesday, a decision some view could assuage angry Bernie Sanders supporters in the lead-up to the general election. Bernie Sanders and his supporters have accused her of tilting the playing field toward Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary.

Pelosi, D-Calif., seemed to choose her words carefully when reporters questioned her about Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who is also a Florida congresswoman.

Beyond politics, I think it became very personal for her and you know she has lashed out at the campaign as I said on a number of occasions, these joint fundraising agreements which took money from state parties and gave it to the DNC.

Sanders then said if elected she would not be appointed DNC chair, and came out for her primary opponent in Florida.

More recently, Wasserman Schultz criticized Sanders after his supporters went a little insane at the Democratic convention in Nevada, stating that his lukewarm response was unacceptable and probably just added fuel to the fire, even though he did condemn the violence.

There’s been talk aplenty that Warren, a Massachusetts’ Senator, could bring her progressive credentials to the presumptive Democratic nominee’s ticket as VP. Due to the sensitive nature of the story, many Democratic members of Congress have not spoken out publicly over their thoughts on the situation, but if the heat continues, a change could be made. “There’s too much water under the bridge for her to be a neutral arbiter”.

“Given the relative lack of difference on policy that we have compared to Republicans, I think this process will be a lot less messy than a lot of people are suggesting”, he said on CNN’s “New Day” Tuesday.

Still, Wasserman Schultz maintains the support of some prominent Democrats.

Less than two months before its convention in Philadelphia, Democrats are considering giving the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) chairwoman the boot. “Debbie Wasserman Schultz has provided at the party, and an anonymous source who disagrees”, Miranda said.

Wasserman Schultz, however, has no announced or known plans to step down from the role she has filled since being selected by President Obama in 2011.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders argued today that he’s “absolutely not” harming the Democratic Party by staying in the 2016 primary race, but rather “invigorating” the party. “I certainly wouldn’t let it happen”. A Clinton aide told CNN that the Democratic front-runner supports Wasserman Schultz and said a fight would “be a distraction”.
