Amber Heard Sues Comedian Who Says She “Blackmailed” Johnny Depp

Heard is filing claims that Stanhope’s accusation that she fabricated her domestic abuse allegations against Depp to squeeze money out of the actor are “completely false”. “Heard, filled with completely false, highly defamatory and very hurtful statements”, he explained.

The complaint is in response to a May 29 guest column by Stanhope published on entertainment trade outlet TheWrap.com and headlined ‘Johnny Depp Is Being Blackmailed by Amber Heard – Here’s How I Know’.

After she came forward with her abuse allegations against Depp, Heard said his camp went on “the offensive” during the movie publicity tour to paint her as being manipulative, a blackmailer, and blaming her for the breakup of her marriage to Depp.

Amber Heard has filed a defamation lawsuit against comedian Doug Stanhope, after he wrote a scathing article for The Wrap, claiming that she is blackmailing her estranged husband Johnny Depp.

Danish Girl actress Amber has been granted a restraining order against her husband of 15 months after alleging he hit her with an iPhone, leaving her with a bruised face.

Screen shots of the unsettling text exchange were obtained by ET – and a source identified those involved as being Deuters and Heard, claiming they were discussing Depp. “Depp is an alcoholic and drug addict, and these violent episodes occurred mostly after Depp had relapsed into a cycle of substance abuse”, the documents read.

“Heard repeatedly retumed to Depp, despite his verbal and physical mistreatment of her, hoping optimistically that the man she married would change his behavior”.

“When she finally realized that Depp was not changing his behavior, and to avoid further injury and risk to her life, Heard took the very hard step of filing for divorce and seeking a protective order”. Heard further claims that Stanhope knew there was no factual basis for the allegations, and engaged in a scheme to discredit her and divert public attention away from the true facts.

As his battle with Heard continues, Depp has only released one statement with regard to his divorce, which reads: ‘Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. A call made to D. Christopher Russell, Heard’s attorney in Sierra Vista, was not immediately returned.

His lawyer Laura Wasser said in court documents related to the restraining order that Heard “is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse”.
