HARD Summer is an annual music festival. The identities of the two teenagers have not been disclosed to the public yet. On Sunday morning, they were pronounced dead.

The women, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, were taken to the Pomona Valley Medical Center where they were pronounced dead at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively. Daytime temperatures in Pomona yesterday reached 90 degrees, so dehydration and heat stroke may have also played a role.

About 65,000 people were expected to attend each day of the event, making it the biggest music festival of its kind in Los Angeles County, ahead FYF which attracts a total of about 80,000 people, the Los Angeles Times reported. Last year, another 19-year-old woman died of a suspected overdose when it was held in South El Monte.

Autopsies were expected for this week as investigators seek to uncover exactly what killed the festival goers, notes the LA Times.

This is not the first time an attendee has died at Hard Summer.
