“While Outlook has been available for Android Wear since back in the middle of April, today Microsoft has expanded on the usefulness of their email client by launching an Outlook Watch Face for Android Wear”, according to a news report published by Android Headlines.

The Outlook face obviously allows you to interact with notifications just like the original Outlook app for Android, so you can archive, schedule, flag, and delete notifications. The announcement was made few hours ago and will allow users to quickly see an overview of their day’s schedule along with key details on where they need to be next. This means users can skip the need to tap and navigate the UI on their wrist, and instead see both email and calendar information on the same screen as the clock. Although the Outlook application is freely available for both the Android Wear as well as Apple Watch, one would have to manually launch the application to stay up-to-date with their schedules or use an appropriate widget.

“Outlook promises to keep you connected, focused and on top of what matters”, Microsoft explains. You also have the ability to RSVP if you get mails inviting you to some event. Features include getting a glance at your daily events, seeing inbox notifications, and interacting with messages as you would on an Android phone from the smartwatch’s default screen.

The company wants to take up residence front and centre on Google-powered watches, with a custom face alerting users to emails and calendar appointments. There aren’t any actions you can take on these, but you can read each event’s description, see where they’re taking place, and see other contacts who are going. It’s a pretty neat addition to the Android Wear experience. rocking Outlook on your wrist?
