Probe into Jawahar Bag violence to begin tomorrow

The obscure Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrahi that shot into limelight in the wake of the Mathura violence is a little-known cult group claiming to be followers of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. UP Congress Vice-President and Chairman of the Communication department Satyadeo Tripathi, in a statement here said that lawyer Vijay Pal Tomar, who went to the High Court against the illegal encroachment of Jawahar Bagh, has alleged that the state government had prepared papers to hand over the land to the “so-called satyagrahis” at Re one per acre of land for 99-year lease.

Uttar Pradesh DGP Javeed Ahmad said that the police is preparing to slap the National Security Act (NSA) against the leaders of the protesters along with others who have been illegally occupying Mathura’s Jawahar Bagh for the last two years. “Even after several notices were served to them, they were not ready to leave the premises”, Mathura District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar was quoted as saying.

Asked if it would be a magisterial probe, he said “it would be a high-power administrative probe”.
