‘Sexier’ new model of MacBook Pro to have OLED touch bar
Noted KGI analyst Ming Chi Kuo claims that the MacBook Pro lineup will get the most significant upgrade of all of Apple’s portfolio this year when launched sometime in Q4. In addition to the OLED bar and Touch ID, the new notebooks will also feature USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 support – possibly allowing the new MacBook Pro to be thinner.

Apple will stick with LCD technology for the laptop’s display, but keyboard’s function keys will be replaced with a touch-sensitive OLED display strip. There has been speculation Apple would introduce Touch ID with MacBooks and, meanwhile, Apple engineers are working on a way users could open their Macs with Touch ID on iPhone. The same source also believes that a new 13in regular MacBook will be released too though, which seems a little unrealistic to us, given that Apple only recently released a refreshed MacBook model. He further describes how the tech giant will adopt new metal injection molded hinges as reported earlier this year.
Accordingly, the device will be witnessing its biggest ever revamp since its release, and it will include some anticipated features like Touch ID, OLED Touch Bar, and more. MacBook Pro is expected to be launched at the Worldwide Developer Conference, better known as WWDC.
A new version of these current Macbook models is now on Apple’s drawing board.

MacBook Air owners have been looking forward to high-resolution Retina displays for a while now, but that sort of upgrade might never happen, considering these rumored Apple plans. Under the hood, it may be powered by the new 400-series Polaris graphics chips and latest Intel Skylake processors. According to Kuo’s report, this MacBook will replace the MacBook Air as the medium level model while MacBook Air will serve as the entry-level option and the MacBook Pro will remain the high-end variant.
