A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for Toronto and parts of southern Ontario as storm clouds make its way across the region. Damaging winds, large hail, and frequent lightning are the main threats as strong thunderstorms develop along a cold front coming through between 5 pm and 10 pm today.
Severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and into tonight across central Nebraska, east into Iowa, and north into Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A long stretch of warm, humid summer weather will come to an end after Sunday, but not before we see some strong storm chances pass through this afternoon and evening. Storms will likely join up into a squall line, hitting northwestern counties earlier in the evening and tracking southeast into the night. “Go indoors and move away from windows and skylights”.
