Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy could be closing in on transfer to Arsenal, as the Gunners are now making a move for him.

The debates are continuing on whether Jamie Vardy’s proposed move to Arsenal is a good move for the Gunners. “I think we can be complimentary and that’s all I can say”, Giroud told Sky Sports News HQ. There is the potential for the classic tall and shorter man partnership if he opts to combine Giroud with the England forward up front, but then again Vardy’s best work has been done as a lone striker.
Leicester fans will be as concerned as Arsenal supporters will be cautious: Is this the trigger that leads to the break-up of Leicester#s Premier League-winning side? However, Giroud will also benefit largely from Jamie Vardy signing for Arsenal as it will provide him with competition. With Welbeck’s performances last season brightening Arsenal’s style of play, you’d assume that he’d be ahead of Giroud’s chances of getting a regular set of games and so The Frenchman must surely be anxious.
Vardy’s style of pace and aggression completely contrasts with Giroud’s style of hold-up play and power in the air.

On the prospect of Vardy’s arrival signalling competition for the striker role at the Emirates, Giroud said he’s “happy with competition”, something that he previously stated on a number of occasions. The 29-year-old claimed that club manager Arsene Wenger wants to bring “one or maybe two strikers’ in the transfer window. Hopefully he is going to help us win this title”, he remarked.
