If you are looking to begin your summer travels and wonder if prices at the gas pump will limit your places to visit, the American Automobile Association (AAA) says think again.
Bartlesville’s average on Thursday was $2.02 per gallon of regular unleaded fuel.
The current national average price for gas is now two-dollars and 37-cents a gallon. Gas prices for the 2016 Memorial Day holiday weekend were the cheapest since 2005.
“The summer driving season is off and running with gas prices at 11-year lows”, said AAA Mid-Atlantic’s Jana Tidwell.
Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in Dallas and Fort Worth are paying the most on average at $2.19 per gallon while drivers in Corpus Christi are paying the least at $2.04 per gallon.
For Your Convenience stations, located at 420 W. 14th Street and at the corner of Nowata Road and Madison Boulevard, boasted the lowest price per gallon for customers paying cash, at $1.95.

Despite the spike, prices are still much lower than they were this time previous year. This could be the case if any severe storms or hurricanes reach landfall, impacting petroleum production, refining and distribution. The average price has gone up 60-cents since February, but its 49-cents less than it was past year.
