After weekend wins, Clinton on cusp of Democratic nomination

Ahead of Puerto Rico’s nominating contest, Mrs Clinton had been just 60 delegates shy of clinching the nomination.

“I condemn it, absolutely”, he told CNN Sunday morning.

When including superdelegates, her lead is substantial – 2,323 to Sanders’ 1,547.

A major shift, in which some 400 superdelegates would need to switch allegiances to hand Sanders the nomination, is unlikely considering Clinton’s close connections throughout the Democratic establishment that Sanders lacks as a long-time independent.

They had a long discussion with Shawn Coleman, a 24-year-old film student, who told them he preferred Sanders to Clinton because “I think I’m a little bit more for what Bernie has in mind for the future, I think he’s right, and Hillary doesn’t really seem on it”.

Sanders is bracing for a prolonged fight that will run into the Democratic convention at the end of July. Where Clinton, a former secretary of state, once held a big lead over Sanders, a USA senator from Vermont, the two now are almost tied.

Sanders rejected the complaint – and rejected Wasserman Schultz, endorsing her Democratic primary opponent in a Florida congressional race several days later.

Clinton is hoping to cross the threshold of 2,382 delegates needed to secure the nomination for the November 8 presidential election as early as 8 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, when polls close in New Jersey. It’s no coincidence Clinton is expected to be at her campaign headquarters in the NY borough of Brooklyn that night.

“If the Democratic leadership wants a campaign that will not only retain the White House but regain the Senate and win governors’ chairs all across this country, we are that campaign”, he said. “It includes the United Farm Workers, because she voted for immigration reform when he didn’t”, Clinton said to cheers.

She later referred to the presumed presidential nominee, Trump, by name – drawing boos from he crowd when she did so. And he argues that U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel has a conflict of interest in the legal case because of the judge’s heritage and because of Trump’s border plan.

Hillary Clinton says Donald Trump “doesn’t really have ideas” but “makes freaky rants and engages in personal feuds and outright lies”.

Curiel is an IN native whose parents are Mexican.

The New York billionaire businessman has vowed to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border and deport millions of undocumented immigrants.

Hillary Clinton stands on the cusp of having enough delegates to claim the Democratic presidential nomination, having overwhelmed Bernie Sanders in a pair of weekend elections in the Caribbean.

Among those voting Sunday was Democratic Party superdelegate Andres Lopez, one of the party insiders who can vote for the candidate of their choice at the summer convention.
