By ripping the UFC middleweight championship from the Californian, Bisping became the first British fighter to win a title in the world’s premier MMA promotion.

Rockhold was originally slated to fight Chris Weidman in a rematch of their title bout at UFC 194, when Rockhold won the belt, but an injury forced Weidman off the card.
Bisping and Rockhold don’t hold too kindly to each other, they fought previously in 2014 with Rockhold submitting Bisping with a Guillotine choke.
After the presser, Bisping tried to bury the hatchet and shake Rockhold’s hand, however, Luke was having none of it, and UFC officials had to intervene to prevent an all out brawl.
“This was my dream”.
“I should have fought my fight instead of messing around with him”, Rockhold said.
“Two weeks notice? As I said, two days, two hours, two hours anyone anywhere”. “I got caught and I guess destiny is real, but it’s not gonna last very long”.

The 37-year-old veteran was on set in Toronto playing a villain in a new Vin Diesel movie when he got the call to replace Weidman, who had to drop out of the rematch with a neck injury.
This is interesting to hear, particularly since Rockhold also acknowledged that he under estimated Bisping. With the SoCal crowd rooting him on, Henderson (32-14), who will be 46 in August, knocked out Cuba’s Hector Lombard (34-6-1, 2 NC) with three at 1:27 of the second round in their middleweight fight.
It was only fitting that a card as exhilarating as UFC 199 would be followed by a press conference that dishes out just as much flare. He delivered an early right hand, but Rockhold responded with those powerful leg kicks that he’s used frequently in the UFC. That guy’s a piece of s**t and I wanna come f**king kill him next time around.
“You just said I can’t compete with you”, Bisping said. He’s a warrior. I have to credit him. “I took him for granted”, he said. I’m still on top of this game. “I’m going to have to give it some thought”. “He’s stated in a lot of interviews is that I’m no different than I used to be, he doesn’t see a lot of differences”.
Rockhold seemed to be at a loss for words after the fight, saying he didn’t expect that result.
“Some say revenge is sweet”, Bisping said.
“A bit, yeah”, Rockhold said.

In an nearly foreshadowing way, Bisping said about Rockhold before the fight that, “When you’re on the floor and you’re looking up at the stars and say ‘(Expletive), I just lost my belt to a guy that came in on two weeks notice and took your belt that you’ve worked your whole life for.’ On two weeks (expletive) notice, mate”.
