Although this isn’t strictly a Saints Row game, it appears that Agents of Mayhem is set in the same universe as Volition’s longrunning franchise.

Although everyone was expecting a new Saints Row game to be unveiled ahead of E3, developer Volition has instead announced comic book style spin-off Agents Of Mayhem. It’s “exclusively single-player”, and it touts all sorts of characters with insane weaponry and gadgets.
As for the game itself, I loved the over-the-top feel of Saints Row IV like everyone else, but there’s such a thing as overdoing it. We’ll see. Building on the unique skill of the AAA studio to continuously surprise, endear, and engage players, Agents of Mayhem represents the culmination of over a decade of open world experience and creativity.

The Cinematic Announcement trailer is embedded below (from IGN; Deep Silver will have it up on its YouTube channel later this week) and you may notice some Saints Row references. Led by the mysterious and no-nonsense Persephone Brimstone, MAYHEM’s elite Super Agents are called to the city of Seoul, South Korea. Legion Minister Doctor Babylon and his evil lieutenants are planning to build a device that will give an vast amount of power to the evil organization.
