Detectives originally found physical evidence to support the contention that Che Calhoun, 31, had murdered Josue since he was in a suburb south of Houston at the time of the killing.

Houston Police arrested a man after the murder of an 11-year-old boy who was walking home from an after-school meeting. Jackson was booked on $100,000 bond.

Andre Timothy Jackson Jr. was charged with murder Friday after officers tracked him down at Houston’s Salvation Army, where he had been living for nearly two months, officials announced Saturday.

Maria Flores, second from left, and husband Juan Flores Sr., along with family members, wait for the casket of son Josue Flores to be blessed before a Mass at Holy Name Catholic Church.

‘Our minds search for answers that just aren’t there. “It was senseless, it was brutal, it was cold-blooded, and someone needs to pay the price for it”, Turner says.

Police say they still do not know the motive. How the man came to arrive at the shelter has yet to be necessarily understood. A team descended upon a north side Salvation Army yesterday, collecting evidence a day after HPD released clear surveillance images of a man with unique shoes and jacket who could be seen on video running near the crime scene within minutes of Flores’ murder. Jackson had the jacket with him when he was arrested, McGalin added. A man in the video can be seen running near where the boy was stabbed.

Several witnesses told officers they heard loud screaming and saw sixth grader Josue Flores struggling with a man. The boy collapsed on the grass near the sidewalk and the man ran off. “We pieced it together”.

Now we’re learning more about the Houstonians inside the game room when Jackson walked in.

Authorities are still considering how the reward should be dispursed. In 2015 he was convicted in the unlawful carrying of a weapon.

On what appears to be Jackson’s Facebook page, he talks about having post-traumatic stress syndrome and intense depression.
