Sunflower seed products recalled
Hostess and Kashi have issued a recall of thousands of their products due to peanut allergy risks and other contaminations, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced. This additional information was identified during the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) food safety investigation.

Questions about the recall can be directed to Post Consumer Brands at 1-800-431-7678 or Giant Food Customer Service at 888-469-4426.
A huge recall of sunflower seeds prompted by fears of Listeria contamination is leading to the recall of even more products sold in Canada.
What you should do If you think you became sick from eating a recalled product, call your doctor.
Check to see if you have recalled products in your home. Still, consumers are being advised to throw them out or return them for a refund.
Food contaminated with Listeria will not necessarily look or smell different from a healthy product.
Possible symptoms include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle pains, severe headaches and stiff neck.
The agency says the recall was triggered by findings during an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. However, listeriosis can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weak immune systems, such as infants, the elderly, pregnant women and persons with human immunodeficiency virus (“HIV”) infection or undergoing chemotherapy.
