Aqib Talib Was Reportedly Shot In A Dallas Nightclub Over The Weekend

Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib was reportedly one of three people shot outside of a Dallas nightclub early Sunday morning.

A spokesman at Medical City Hospital confirmed Sunday afternoon that Talib was being treated at the hospital, with other media reporting that he was first treated in the emergency room, then fully admitted.

Dallas Medical City said Talib “is not now a patient at the hospital”. In 2009, Talib was arrested for simple assault and battery, and resisting arrest which was eventually settled with a financial agreement. None of them were critically injured, according to an officer with the Dallas Police Department. Burress accidentally shot himself in a NY nightclub and later was suspended by the team for four games for the incident. According to TampaBay.com, Police said that “Talib pistol-whipped and fired shots at Shannon Billings, 42, the live-in boyfriend of Talib’s sister”.

Aqib Talib was accused on an aggravated assault charge for an incident near Dallas back in 2011. However, he will not make the trip to Washington D.C.to visit the White House and meet President Obama.

Denver’s mandatory minicamp begins on Tuesday.

Talib made headlines past year at a downtown Dallas nightclub when he and his brother were alleged to have been involved in an altercation. A nine-year National Football League veteran, Talib is in the third-year of a $57 million contract with the Broncos, $8 million of which is guaranteed.

The incident is the latest in a series of off-the-field issues that have marked his pro career. The charges were reportedly dropped.

Talib is in the third year of a six-year, $57 million contract with the Broncos, who defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 in February.
