The Galaxy S7 Active’s one key feature (it’s not just rugged)
When the new Galaxy S7 arrived with a more durable design and waterproof IP68 rating, many thought the popular “Active” model would be a thing of the past. So much in fact, that many buyers could consider getting it over the original. Compared with other rugged AT&T devices like the Kyocera Duraforce and the Sonim XP6, the S7 Active is significantly more expensive.

On the backside of the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro, you will find an 8MP sensor while the front-facing snapper is listed at 5MP. More importantly, so far, the budget-priced lineup of On5 and On7 which Samsung launched past year has largely remained confined to Asian markets. How many people throw down hundreds of dollars on the latest high-end flagship phone just to hide its lovely metal or glass chassis inside a thick, rubbery case? Let us know your thoughts right away.
Overall, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 6 is expected to be released in either August or September. The Galaxy S7 Active will be part of various AT&T offers. AT&T Next also provides options to upgrade the handset at certain intervals.
Like its predecessors the Galaxy S7 Active will be an AT&T exclusive.
Available in gold, gray, or green, the handset promises all the premium features of its Galaxy S siblings, with some added peace of mind for those who put their devices through the ringer.
Alternatively, you can get two S7 Active handsets on AT&T Next, and receive up to $695 in bill credits over 30 months.
Last year it was $199 with a new 2-year contract, but AT&T is no longer offering those. Meaning users can buy it outright from June 10th, or make monthly payments to have the latest and greatest.

Battery capacity reaches 4,000mAh and the Galaxy S7 Active comes with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box. The phone lasted 10 hours and 30 minutes in our rundown test, in which we stream full-screen video over LTE at maximum brightness. On reflection I think I prefer on-screen controls myself, although I do get that if you’re going to have a fingerprint scanner this is probably the best setup (not keen on those rear-mounted ones), and although I’m not fond of the capacitive keys having just these two on-screen without a home button would probably have looked weird.
