Instagram Brings Search To The Web
The new search features should look very familiar to existing Instagram users as the Facebook-owned company overhauled searching in app, which included making it easier to spot what’s trending in the discovery section. The updated search now hunts through hashtags, users’ accounts, and general terms for those times you’d rather go browsing on the desktop rather than fiddling with your phone.

Instagram was designed to be browsed mainly on mobile devices.
Though Instagram began as a definitive mobile-first app, as web embeds of their content grow more integral to driving traffic, its important that they create a positive experience for users that are directed to the site. The location pages are slick, featuring a map and posts that occurred in a specific location.
Instagram has finally added a search tool to its desktop experience, the company announced via Twitter.
Be that as it may, Instagram’s website is slowly evolving into something more usable, and adding search functionality is a small step toward app parity.

Instagram has introduced a new search function to its website. This update is a welcome change as the website has remained pretty sparse since its launch in 2012, although admittedly any website was better than not having one at all as it was the case initially. Besides amping up search for the Web, today’s new feature will also build out the landing pages for locations and hashtags.
