The New York Yankees look for their second win in as many nights as they continue their series at home with the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels have also struggled mightily against the Yankees, losing six of eight against the Bombers and 25 of 33 in NY. NY got the best of the Angels last night and I expect that to continue again here as Pineda finds his form. While the veteran looks to continue his torrid stretch, NY would like to do the same versus Los Angeles as it has won 12 of the last 17 encounters – including a sweep at Yankee Stadium in 2015.

The Yankees (27-30) opened a seven-game homestand with a stunning turnaround to take advantage of another solid outing by Masahiro Tanaka. He had thrown just 59 pitches through the first six innings, but needed 21 pitches to get through the seventh inning.
Tanaka hadn’t give up more than one earned run in any of his previous three starts.
Andrew Miller (3-0) got the victory after striking out the side in the eighth – including Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. Aroldis Chapman, who blew a save chance for the first time this season Sunday in Baltimore, pitched a flawless ninth for his 10th save. Kole Calhoun added a sacrifice fly in the third for a 2-0 lead. They’re also 6-0 in his last six starts versus a team with a losing record and have won five of seven with home coming off four days of rest.

Beltran made them pay, hitting an opposite-field homer to right for the Yankees first lead of the game.
