Wojcicki also announced that the company will be opening two more YouTube Spaces in 2016, as indicated by this report by 9to5Google.

In the new YouTube app, tabbed browsing will replace the existing “hamburger” menu, with three main areas comprising the app’s layout. The new design is supposed to make navigating and using YouTube easier while on a mobile device.

Most tech savvy people must be aware (of what used to be a problem anyway) that vertically recorded videos are the worst to watch.

Earlier this year, YouTube first introduced 360-degree video, which could be viewed on desktop applications, through VR devices or through Google Cardboard viewer.

– The number of advertisers running video ads is up more than 40% over past year.

The online-video phenomenon that pioneered entertainment for the social era a decade ago reaches more millennials than any cable network, and it has more than a billion global users, according to Wojcicki. The L.A. Times’s run-down of Wojcicki’s VidCon keynote speech indicates that they are moving YouTube more and more into a mobile platform, aware of where and how their site is being accessed.

When you search for videos on YouTube these days, chances are that you will see a lot of non-required stuff first, and then the video you actually asked. Not only that, but the average YouTube viewing time has gone up with 60 percent over last year’s stats. Wojcicki also thanked video makers for being a “massive part of the reinvention of television”.

Starting with the following period users can subscribe themselves for notifications from their favorite artists, thus, being informed when the creator has posted a new video. “But we heard from gamers that it needs some work”, Wojcicki said. What’s important, she said, is that YouTube is still known as a place where new talents are born and discovered.
