Moussa Sissoko desires to leave Newcastle United and join ‘beautiful’ Arsenal

The France worldwide, now training with his nation for Euro 2016, admits he’s not prepared to stick by Newcastle following their relegation to the Championship.

On the all-too-familiar premise that his place in the France squad would be jeopardised if he were to continue playing for the Toon in the Championship next season, Sissiko has openly announced that he’s leaving St James’ Park this summer. I hope that I will have the chance, soon, to play for this club or for a similar club…

“There will be discussions”.

“I want to leave so I hope there will be no problem for me to find my happiness at another club”, said the 26-year-old. I think few people would refuse to play there. Sissoko said: “I want to continue to my career in England, at a club that plays in the Champions League”.

However, Sissoko failed to confirm that he would be joining Arsenal this summer, saying that he “cannot” say what he’s doing, and that he’s only “focused on the French national team and the Euros”.

“There were quite a few French players there like Thierry Henry, Robert Pirès, Sylvain Wiltord, Patrick Vieira who was my idols”.

The attractive Arsenal. We will see. I can not say that I will go to Arsenal.

Not only did Sissoko reveal that he wants to play Champions League football, he told Foot Mercato that he wants to in the European competition with a club inEngland.

As for Newcastle, they will have to try their upmost to keep Sissoko at the club for next season’s push for promotion back to the Premier League.

The midfielder stated that he has already spoken to Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez about his situation and that the manager now knows of his ambition to leave the club. My representatives will have a discussion with him.

However, on the same day as Sissoko openly courted a move away from Tyneside, Newcastle reaffirmed their position that they would decide whether or not a player could depart depending on whether or not it is in the “best interests of the club”.

Benitez has tried to convince Sissoko to stay at Newcastle and lead the club back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.

“I must continue my development”, Sissoko told Le Foot.
