Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg was apparently targeted by a hacking team over the weekend that was able to access his seldom-used Twitter and Pinterest accounts.

OurMine also claimed to have hacked Zuckerberg’s Instagram account, but the Facebook owned company have not yet confirmed this.
Both Twitter and Pinterest have since removed the unauthorized content on Zuckerberg’s accounts, and Twitter has also suspended OurMine’s main account.
The report said that the password emerged from the stolen data in 2012 from LinkedIn Corp.
Security experts are advising all users of LinkedIn to change their passwords and replace any payment cards associated with their account. Think about how many times you may have reset your password on some other site and the recovery link is sent to your email account.
“We were alerted of this takeover attempt and have taken action to remove the false profile on LinkedIn”, said a statement, the newspaper reported.
“We’ve invalidated all accounts believed to be at risk here”, a LinkedIn spokesperson told Reuters.
It appears Zuckerberg did just that, reusing the six character, two letter password for his other social media accounts. Apps like Keeper, LastPass, Dashlane help you save all your passwords in one place, which are further protected by a password.
Drake adds to the growing list of celebrities whose Twitter accounts have been hacked in the past few days.
The group said they hacked Zuckerberg’s Instagram account, as well, but Facebook reports that’s not true.

Pay special attention to email credentials: Many users fail to recognize that their email account can be a front door to their entire digital life. Now more than ever, hackers are savvier and well-resourced, which reiterates the need for consumers to constantly update their passwords and ensure that they are using different passwords for each application.
