Spider-Man: Homecoming Adds Michael Barbieri to the Cast

Spider-Man: Homecoming continues to fill out the roles of Peter Parker’s classmates, as Michael Barbieri has joined the film, Heroic Hollywood was first to report. His feature film debut, Ira Sach’s New York-set Little Men, hasn’t even hit theaters yet and he already has a part in the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower.

Meanwhile, Comicbook.com reports that “Barbieri’s character will be a new one, though he’ll be based off the Ultimate Spider-Man character Ganke”. It’s time to meet another of his classmates, this time in the form of an original character based on comic book character Ganke. Details on Barbieri’s role have not been disclosed other than being a friend to Holland’s Peter Parker character. His affinity for superheroes and optimism are expected from Barbieri’s character. Director Sean Watts is helming the film with new fan favorite Tom Holland playing everyone’s favorite neighborhood Spider-Man.

Michael Barbieri joins a Spider-Man: Homecoming cast that now includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr.as Tony Stark, Michael Keaton as a mystery villain (believed to be the Vulture) and Zendaya as a character by the name of Michelle. It will be released in on 7 July 2017 from Sony Pictures.
