Apart from faster accessibility, FAB and an improved universal search function, the niftiest change the new Skype for Android app brings to Android tablets is multitasking. Additionally, you can get into the app settings, switch accounts and view your Twitter Ads through that menu.

Finally, the “new tweet” button has been turned into a floating button in the corner of the screen, so users can quickly send a new tweet whenever they’d like.

The update adds a tab at the top of the screen as well, one that gives users access to Moments, Notifications, and Direct messages. These four tabs are swipe-able, making navigation a breeze in this update. This is likely to keep the user experience mostly the same for users.

This update goes a long way towards closing the gap, though the release of third-party Twitter app Flamingo (from the maker of Weather Timeline) this week shows there are even more ways that the social network could embrace Google’s design aesthetic.
