25000 customers without power after storms

The nasty weather also led to power outages for almost 50,000 customers as it rolled through the region, according to CBC News.

In Toronto, approximately 1,000 customers across the city were without power at the height of the storm.

Environment Canada has reissued severe thunderstorm warnings for southern Bruce County and northern Huron County.

Strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain blasted Toronto and the GTA during the brief but intense storm. “Go indoors and move away from windows and skylights”.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers are getting countless reports of downed trees and powerlines, but there are no reports of serious damage.

There were also unconfirmed reports of possible tornadoes touching down near Barrie, near Shelburne, Goderich, Minto, Kincardine and Port Perry.
