Rubio suggests he’s not running for Senate re-election
“I didn’t run for president because I didn’t want to be in the Senate, I ran for president because I wanted to make a difference”, Rubio said. Businessman Todd Wilcox has only 2 percent of the Republican voters supporting him, according to the poll.

Rubio has until June 24 to enter the Senate race.
“If Rubio did decide to run, he would face a tough contest”, the PPP analysis states, trailing Democratic Florida Rep. Patrick Murphy 44-43 in a hypothetical matchup.
Among Florida voters who say they will vote in November, 49 percent said Rubio should run while 39 percent say that he should not and 12 percent said that they are not sure.
In case the Florida senator has forgotten, it was just two weeks ago that Rubio told the Washington Post he’s attending the Republican National Convention, releasing his delegates to his party’s presumptive nominee, said he’d “certainly be honored” to help Trump win the White House, and said of Trump’s candidacy, “I want to be helpful”.
Murphy, a Jupiter accountant who has been accused recently of padding his resume, was recognized favorably by 27 percent of likely Democratic voters and unfavorably by 6 percent.
Labor attorney Pam Keith drew three percent.
At the top of the pack of those now running is Manatee County developer Carlos Beruff with 17 percent of likely voters – which is merely a fraction of the folks who’d prefer for Rubio to keep his seat.
Five Republicans – Ron DeSantis, David Jolly, Carlos Lopez-Cantera, Carlos Beruff, and Todd Wilcox – will face off in the August 30 primary.

The poll was conducted from Tuesday to Thursday, with results released last week on the presidential election in Florida. The survey has a margin of error of 3.6 percent. “In both the Democratic and Republican primary races over 40 percent of voters are undecided and on the GOP side voters are splitting amongst four leading candidates and none of them has support that tops 20 percent”.
