Multiple people have have been killed after a vehicle hit a group of people, some on bicycles, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Tuesday evening.

The adult cyclists were struck from behind while riding along the 5500 block of North Westnedge Avenue in Cooper Township. Eyewitnesses say the driver of the Pick-up fled the scene on foot but has since been taken into custody.

“I saw a bunch of bikes hit the front of his truck and a couple of them flew”, he told the station.

Her death is very suspicious, police say, and details as to how she died aren’t yet being disclosed. The truck may also be the same one that was reported earlier in the day when a concerned witness reported an allegedly drunk driver. The pickup almost rolled over his foot and before Eberhard could warn the bicyclists they were hit, he said.
