Now, former Villarreal defender Eric Bailly has officially passed his medical examinations leading up to his eventual move to Manchester United, to suit up at Old Trafford.
Sky Sports report that Manchester City are in advanced talks with Borussia Dortmund for Aubameyang, who is presently one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.
The signing of Aubameyang, if it were to happen, would be a major coup for Guardiola and City.
The Dortmund striker is top of Guardiola’s list but he must fight off competition from Real Madrid to sign the striker.
He wants to make an immediate impact at the Etihad and is ready to go all guns blazing with a financial package the player and his club Dortmund can’t refuse. Dortmund have made a habit of losing their prized assets every year, and this year is no exception, with Gundogan and Mats Hummels having already packed their bags for their respective destinations.
The forward, who scored 36 goals for the Bundesliga club last season, would consider a move to join up with Pep Guardiola at City despite interest from Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.
However, Aubameyang has four years left on his contract, which would account for the exorbitant fee Dortmund are reportedly demanding for their star man.

According to Sky Sports, the Citizens are on the verge of beating Real Madrid to the signature of the Gabonese worldwide striker, who scored 25 goals in only 29 Bundesliga goals last season. City will have to at least match that price tag.
