The Auburn Athletics Department will open Jane B. Moore Field to host a viewing party for the championship series of the Women’s College World Series.
The Sooners can take the title with a win in game two of the best-of-three series at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The Tigers rallied to tie the game, 7-7, in the bottom of the fourth inning. “Every team that’s been there has been so different”. “But I don’t know, that pitch was just there”. Since we are freshmen, nobody thought we would be here, especially with the team we lost past year. “So, to be here is, it’s something special, but it’s something that we expect from this program”.
And the only reason the game went to extra innings was the catch of a lifetime by Howard. “(Parker has) definitely matured into a veteran sophomore. The Tigers fought back as a 2-run homer from Jade Rhodes in the 7th inning drew the Tigers to within 3-2. Cooper RBI single made it 7-5. Cooper then walked on a 3-1 pitch to load the bases for Carosone, who Auburn loaded the bases in the eighth inning, which belted the first pitch for a line drive walk-off homer to right-center field. Parker was not ideal, but battled through 7 innings, striking out 8 and holding off a late Wolverine rally.
Game 2 of the best-of-three series is Tuesday night.
“It’s about resiliency”, Oklahoma’s Erin Miller said.

The Sooners rested their ace, instead going with Kelsey Stevens and Jayden Chestnut. 11-7. Auburn put runners aboard in the Bottom 6th, but couldn’t do anything with it. Oklahoma put a runner on in the Top 7th, but also couldn’t do anything with it.
“We went out there in the circle and we had some words of encouragement, and we just said basically there’s so much of this game left”, he said.
Auburn fans, this week, have required a few antacids and possibly something stronger.
If that happens, you won’t be able to turn away from it anyway because one pitch, one hit or one error will determine the outcome and decide who wins a national champions.
Whitney Jordan blasted a 3-run homer to left, then Howard tripled to cut Oklahoma’s lead to 7-4. The Sooners were more than happy to take advantage of the long ball, as in two home runs; and the small ball, scoring two runs on consecutive bunt singles. Confusion followed, but in the end Auburn stayed in the winner’s bracket. Auburn previously faced elimination in the super regionals, losing its first game against Arizona before winning back-to-back games to advance to the WCWS.
With 2 outs in the Bottom 2nd, Auburn started a rally.
Georgia’s only run came in the fourth inning, when Alyssa DiCarlo singled and scored on a fielder’s choice. We chose to pick the last two.
