One police source told CTV News that Deo was “an animal”.
A 30-year-old man has been killed after a daytime shooting in a popular midtown Toronto neighbourhood and investigators are searching for two suspects seen running from the area.
A neighbour of Deo in Oakville, Ont., west of Toronto, who declined to be identified out of fear of retaliation, said Deo moved into the neighbourhood in 2012.
Police say two suspects described as black males, were seen fleeing the area in a black auto.
Police would not say how many shots were fired and whether the man was targeted, but said the front of the vehicle was damaged by bullets and it appears the victim was alone at the time.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear but Toronto police are looking for two suspects in connection with the fatal attack.
His brother Harjit was convicted in a 2005 gangland kidnapping along with others in the Independent Soldiers gang.
The victim was held in the Deo family’s New Westminster home.
Sukh’s father Parminder is wanted on an Interpol warrant on drug smuggling charges laid in India.
In B.C., Sukh Deo had convictions for resisting a police officer, driving while suspended and assault. Police have said they were wearing construction vests, one orange, one green.
