Missing Special Olympics athlete turns up 350 miles away

Thousands of athletes said goodbye to Los Angeles on Sunday in an emotional closing ceremony for the Special Olympics marked by cheers, tears and pride.

Andi Gusmari, a 44 year old bowler, was last seen at the USC Festival area at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The question of how Gusmari ended up in Hayward still remains a mystery.

Over 7000 athletes from 165 countries participated in the world games.

Athletes say they will reflect on the games as a positive experience in their lives.

Athletes competed in 26 different sports over nine days at venues throughout Los Angeles, including the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles.

The 2015 Games featured competitions in aquatics, gymnastics, track and field, basketball, soccer and many other summer sports involving 6,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities from around the world.
