Rescuers discover physique of Illinois drowning sufferer

A body was discovered Sunday and officials were working Sunday afternoon to identify the body, CBS Chicago reports.

A body matching the description of a missing 20-year-old suburban woman has been recovered two days after she disappeared underwater while swimming with friends.

The above information was updated at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Responding to the initial call besides PFD and DNR Conservation Officers were the Coast Guard, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore rangers, Chesterton Fire, Burns Harbor Fire and Portage Fire. Beach goers helped pull two of the girls to safety but Froese disappeared in the water. Emergency personnel and Good Samaritans were able to rescue two of the swimmers out of the water.

Water currents indicate she might have been swept west toward Indiana Dunes State Park, but the target search area was been widened, coast guard officials said on Saturday. Brock stated the Porter Hearth Division’s dive and rescue group had its Okay-9 unit out as nicely.
