James Corden & Lin-Manuel team up for epic ‘Carpool Karaoke’
Prior to airing the epic edition of “Carpool Karaoke” Corden sat down with radio host Howard Stern revealing he struggled to book stars for the segment. In this episode, Corden and Miranda begin by singing the opening track to Miranda’s hit musical, “Alexander Hamilton”.

Lin-Manuel Miranda says he is not as nervous or under pressure to deliver wins at Sunday night’s Tony Awards this time around as he was in 2008 with “In the Heights”.
In the past few weeks, there were rumors that there would be a Hamilton “Carpool Karaoke” video, which wasn’t all that surprising since Hamilton swept the Tony nominations with a record-breaking 16 nominations this year.
The pair then pick up three other Broadway stars, Audra McDonald from Shuffle Along, Jesse from Fully Committed (as well as TV show Modern Family), and former Ally McBeal star Jane Krakowski, who’s now appearing in She Loves Me.
Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of “Hamilton”, joined Corden for a performance from that show, the heavy favorite for best musical.
CBS also gave Corden a primetime special for “Carpool Karaoke” featuring Jennifer Lopez.
The Broadway community is abuzz with excitement for the 70th annual Tony Awards, hosted by James Corden at the Beacon Theatre.
“Even if this bit is just me singing to Mariah Carey, it’s still on the show”, he said.
Things ended with an incredible, seemingly improvised, version of “One More Day” from Les Miserables.
“Oh, you guys, best friends forever”, Ferguson exclaimed as they ended, embracing Krakowski and McDonald.

“If you imagine an artist – just think of any artist in the world – they said no to it”. If you didn’t completely fangirl when Audra hit that high note at the end, nothing will ever impress you.
