The actress filed for divorce from her husband of 15 months on 23 May (16), and on Friday (27May16), she obtained a domestic violence restraining order against Depp, claiming that he had been physically abusive to her by throwing an iPhone at her during a fight two days before she chose to end their marriage.

In reports over the weekend, the Los Angeles Police Department said that when officers responded to Heard and Depp’s apartment when the alleged iPhone abuse took place, they found that no crime had been committed. Heard’s lawyers said the actress originally declined to make a statement to police at the time to “protect her privacy and Johnny’s career”.
Almost a week after the 30-year-old actress was granted a temporary restraining order against Depp and showed up to court with a bruised face, new images of Heard were published by People magazine that reveal a mark on her eye and a cut lip allegedly caused by a December 2015 incident. They wrote that Heard “cannot continue to leave herself open to the vicious false and malicious allegations that have infected the media”.

As we know, Heard filed for divorce from the 52-year-old after 15 months of marriage on May 23. News that he will “not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life”.
Heard’s attorneys on Tuesday didn’t cite the column specifically, but said her character is being maligned and she is standing up to “Johnny’s relentless army of lawyers and surrogates”.

Heard was granted a temporary restraining order based on photos she supplied to a court of her bruised face last week, but there were conflicting reports over whether she had officially spoken to Los Angeles police about the incident. “Amber is a hero”, the statement goes on to say after Depp’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, said Heard was motivated by financial gains.
