Brock Turner: Facebook removes Stanford University rapist meme

Facebook user Louisa Curry has had enough of this. The former swimmer must register for life as a sex offender after a jury convicted him of three felony counts of assault and attempted rape.

The victim sent the text to Kianerci in response to interview requests that speak to her new-found strength and why she prefers to remain anonymous. As for the judge, he said at sentencing Turner’s age and lack of criminal history were factors in his decision.

“His dream of attending Harvard Divinity School was derailed”, an excerpt from the Boston Herald, about Labrie seeking another trial, read.

Turner’s father said in a letter to the judge that his son should not pay such “a steep price … for 20 minutes of action out of his 20 plus years of life”.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Stanford University officials say policies to prevent and respond to sexual assault worked as well as expected after bystanders spotted a member of the swimming team sexually assaulting an unconscious woman near a garbage bin.

As suggested by the victim in her lengthy statement, Turner seems to be in profound denial that what he did constitutes a crime-instead blaming his sexual assault of an unconscious woman behind a dumpster on the “party culture” that was new to him.

“What she’s been going through is very much what I’ve been going through”, Ashley, who asked Hack not to use her surname, said. “I was terrified of it”, she wrote.

Last week, Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Aaron Persky sentenced him to six months in county jail and three years of probation, stating that a harsher penalty would have a “severe impact” on 20-year-old Turner.

In a statement released Monday, Stanford says it reached out to the victim to offer support and inform her of the steps the university was taking.

When Turner tried to run away, Jonsson ran after him.

Persky, who was re-elected on Tuesday after running unopposed, sentenced Turner to six months in county jail last week for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman after a fraternity party. None immediately returned calls and emails seeking additional comment beyond what they have posted online. Leslie Rasmussen, the drummer with indie band Good English, wrote a character reference for Turner in which she said the incident was a “misunderstanding”.

“That happens over and over again where we think, ‘Oh my god, you’re ruining this poor boy’s life.’ No one thinks about the victim”.

She said conversations about sexual assault need to happen more often. “So we did a thorough investigation, we presented considerable evidence to the county for prosecution and it was a successful prosecution”, she said, noting that the vast majority of campus assault cases never get reported to police.
