Hillary Clinton is Democratic Party’s Presumptive Nominee
If she loses, the night of the nomination will take on a retrospective pallor that it didn’t have in the moment.

Sanders’ pledge to continue his campaign came hours before the final result of California Democratic primary came out, in which Clinton notched an easy victory by two-digit lead. She’s been comfortable, authoritative, and, yes, presidential. First came the Bushes, father and son, and now the Clintons, husband and wife.
But it’s a much different story with Latinos over of 50, who support Clinton, 69% to 16%.
For Edmondson, Clinton’s answer settled it.
Margaret Thatcher is often remembered as a trailblazer, but she was elected British Prime Minister almost 40 years ago. The candidate started out on a positive note past year, praising Clinton for her leadership on some issues and pledging to run an issues-driven campaign. “It’s the villainized woman who’s had to deal with a lot”.
So, Edmondson climbed aboard the proverbial bus. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi didn’t wait for the votes Tuesday to announce her support.
“I feel very good about the campaign we ran”, she said. I know that feeling well. One Clinton campaign event featured catered tacos and pupusas.
Mrs Clinton is now putting history at the heart of her campaign: 96 years after women earned the national right to vote in the United States, she has made history as the first woman to run for the USA presidency as the candidate of a major party.
According to this count, 3,475,756 voters voted for Democrats, with 56 percent (1.9 million) voting for Hillary Clinton, who is now the presumptive nominee.
Clinton is scheduled to campaign in OH on Monday and Pennsylvania on Tuesday, two states that Trump must carry to have a chance of occupying the White House. “This election is different”. But Clinton “is still competing for young Latinos”, Barreto said in a telephone interview on Tuesday afternoon. “We won’t let this happen in America'”.
Clinton wanted to wait until most of the voting was complete Tuesday night before fully revelling in becoming the first woman nominated by a major US political party.
Throughout primary season, Clinton supporters have often resisted talking about wanting to see a woman in the White House, for fear that it would undermine the other reasons they support her.
Pollsters have asked Americans: What is holding women back from high political office? When she looked out and said, “Tonight’s victory is not about one person, it belongs to generations”, it was hard not to get chills.
She said she was not sure a woman can be elected in Israel because she is a woman.
Alex Soberman, 28, put it more simply: “It’s time, isn’t it?” After one senator rescinded his endorsement and House Speaker Paul Ryan called the comments “racist”, Trump sought to calm worries with a rare, scripted speech in which he insisted to voters he “will never, ever let you down”.
As she said it, a little girl in a neon t-shirt, resting on her mothers hip hoisted a little arm in the air and cheered. She riffed about standing under a literal “glass ceiling”.
Both made campaign issues out of immigration topics that presidential candidates avoided in the past. Maybe that’s the point.
Clinton needs to make peace with her chief rival, U.S. Sen. “This is our moment to come together”.
Sotomayor later described her “wise Latina” remark as a “poor choice of words”, noting that “if you read on and read the rest of my speech you wouldn’t be concerned with it”. But that train doesn’t actually exist. The bus is more practical, and at least it’s heading in your direction.
“With all due respect to Latino press, they’ve been very biased”, Erika Andiola, the Sanders campaign’s national press secretary for Latinx outreach, told Fusion. He promised to deliver a longer speech on the Clintons “probably Monday”.
“I’m going to really begin to pay attention to that now that we’ve wrapped up the primary process”, she said. Bill Nelson of Florida said Sanders should “stand down” and Sen. During the 2008 primary, when it was clear Obama would beat Clinton, Soberman, too, says he wanted to fight on. No Republican ever has been elected president without winning OH, and Pennsylvania is one of several old industrial states where Trump is hoping to woo traditionally Democratic voters who have seen factories close and jobs disappear.

Mike Madrid, a Republican consultant who specializes in Latino politics in California, said the seeming inevitability of Clinton’s candidacy was apparent – and drawing attention – long before Clinton was declared the presumptive nominee.
