“The councillors of BJP and Congress were being allowed to raise issues while my attempts to say something went unnoticed”. It was pure hooliganism and it was captured by TV cameras.
On Wednesday, a number of councillors from BJP-ruled MCDs led by three mayors staged a protest outside Kejriwal’s residence, demanding clearance of their pending dues by the AAP government.
Shortly after the incident, AAP leader Ashutosh demanded a police inquiry under the SC/ST Act. “He was wearing the AAP cap during the session which is not allowed”.
A BJP councillor identified as Neeraj Gupta allegedly slapped Rakesh Kumar during the joint session.
Thereafter, a scuffle took place between the councillors of both the parties. “We advice AAP to mind its own working first and stop intervening in the working of MCD”. “Neither Kejriwal nor MCD believe in democracy”.
Reacting to the incident, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called BJP a “party of gundas”. “The drama of AAP and BJP is affecting the people”, he said.
The AAP legislators urged the police to register a case against those who attacked the councillor.
The video of some BJP councillors attacking Rakesh has now become viral on the social networking sites.

He was looking for a chance to speak at the meeting, where a resolution condemning Arvind Kejriwal government was passed earlier. “The BJP has always been anti-Dalit”, said legislator Alka Lamba.
